Paula Aguilera is an artist based in Argentina. She has always lived a family life, where her aunts, uncles and grandparents told her family stories since she was a little child. Being passionate about art, she found her purpose telling her family stories through animation and illustration, mostly honoring the women she finds inpiring like her mom.
She studied Arts, Design and Communication in high school where she learned the basics of art and design and in 2019 she began studying Multimedia Design in La Rioja National University (UNLAR). Three years later, on August 2022, she started the degree of her dreams: Animation Filmmaking on Escuela DaVinci (Buenos Aires), which she's still doing until this day at the age of 24.
Between school and freelancing, Paula loves to meditate and relax playing with her cats, meeting friends, play with fashion and connecting with other artists when going to fairs. She's also very passionate about volleyball, being the captain of the mixed and feminine teams of VPT, the first mixed volleyball team of San Juan, Argentina.
Her artistic identity is based on San Juan folklore, her family and the empowerment of women in all its forms, not only the ones that that get to be independent, but also the ones that suffer, that just want a little bit of peace, the women that love women, the women that have to do horrible things just to get the chance to keep living their lives, stories of the real life or fantasies.
She believes in an animated filmmaking that's taken seriously and not like "child's media", exploring film genres like horror, terror, drama and dark fantasy with themes like death, lost of innocence, grief, violence and always honoring her country.
